Ipsen Ships First Titan Vacuum Furnace To Europe

Ipsen Inc (Rockford, IL, USA) has shipped the first of its new global furnace, Titan, to a customer in Europe. The shipment comes barely a month past the announced launch of the product on 16 February 2009. Titan rolls effortlessly on its own mobile platform and fits neatly inside a shipping container. It was specifically designed so that two units could fit comfortably in a single overseas container.

The company said that the fact that Titan’s first customer is European is validation that products designed and built in the USA still offer a great value to the rest of the world and illustrates how Ipsen is working hard to keep skilled jobs in America.

Titan is a self contained, highly mobile, skid-mounted system with fast utility hook-ups which installs in just one day. Its simple-to-master control system supports 15 languages, switches easily between imperial and metric units of measure, provides real-time data acquisition, trending and archiving, and stores up to 1000 recipes. An expert controls option, with interactive programme generation feature, even provides recipe suggestions based on the customer’s metallurgical needs.

Titan’s manufacturing versatility, operational simplicity and financial flexibility allow both heat treaters and OEMs alike to capitalise on profitable opportunities and reduce costs in a challenging economy, added the company.
