Activity Hots Up for Kiln Lining Specialist

Fuel Conservation Services Ltd (Cannock, Staffs, England), a leading combustion linings technology company, has acquired another established player in the market, TFW Dixon & Sons (Bromsgrove, Worcs, England) for an undisclosed sum.

TFW Dixon, which specialises in ceramic fibre engineering, and Fuel Conservation Services (FCS), which manufactures and installs ceramic linings for kilns, ovens and furnaces, have now joined their workforces at FCS' modern industrial premises at Anglesey Business Park in Cannock in South Staffordshire.

FCS Managing Director Mike Myatt said that the deal brings together complementary strengths which will enhance its status in the UK and which will provide a powerful base to further develop overseas business.

"The combination of Dixon's significant experience and expertise in the market place together with our state-of-the-art technology will give FCS an unrivalled edge over its competitors. Our joint customer bases will also ensure that our market share is substantially increased," said Mike.

The acquisition was handled by Daniel Keane, Managing Partner of specialist commercial lawyers Keelys of Lichfield. Commenting on the transaction, he said: "A key part of this deal was negotiating the terms applicable to Dixon's intellectual property rights, which fits in with FCS' cutting edge approach to the products they supply. I am confident this acquisition will cement FCS' market leader position in this sector".
