Grain Size Measurement Seminar

The Materials Research Institute (Sheffield, South Yorks, England) will stage a one-day seminar on Grain Size Measurement on 11 May 2004. This is on the theme 'Is Measuring Grain Size an Issue for You?'.

Working with industry in response to its needs, the Materials Research Institute is a leading support centre in materials technology. Its team of experienced and innovative staff are backed up by world class analytical facilities, says MRI.

It offers a wide range of impact consultancy and applied research programmes, completing over 250 projects per year. The MRI is one of very few departments within the post '92 university sector in the UK to be awarded a Research Assessment Exercise grade of 5.

This is awarded for a research profile which achieves international excellence in up to half of the work undertaken and national excellence in virtually all of the remainder. The MRI is based at the Sheffield Hallam University.
