Grant Instruments Acquires DataTaker

Grant Instruments (Cambridge) Ltd has acquired the majority shareholding in DataTaker Pty Ltd. This merger brings together two strong, respected brands within the data logging and data acquisition field.

Grant Instruments is a privately owned company, based in Shepreth near Cambridge, England. This year, the company celebrates its 50th anniversary. It describes itself as a manufacturing company of quality and reliable laboratory equipment and data loggers for advanced industrial and research applications.

DataTaker, an Australian manufacturing company with offices in the USA and the UK, has been an industry leader for nearly 20 years. It is well known for the design and manufacturing of low cost, robust, standalone data logging and data acquisition systems for industry, science and public utility applications.

Through this acquisition, both Grant and DataTaker will be able to strengthen their global position and widen their product offering from easy to use, portable, front panel programmable data loggers (Squirrel brand) right through to sophisticated high speed standalone and PC based data acquisition systems (dataTake brand).

Complementary data logging and data acquisition products will enhance the different market segments and regional strengths of each company. Both companies have well established distributor networks.
