CTI Goes for Plant Expansion

Céramiques Techniques et Industrielles (CTI) - based in Salindres in Southern France - expects to complete a 2,500 square metre plant expansion by the end of May 2002, bringing the total plant area to 5,500 square metres.

The plant expansion will accommodate two new production lines that will be operational by the end of June 2002:

LINE 1 is dedicated to the production of honeycomb ceramics by the extrusion process. Products will include, but are not limited to, catalyst supports for stationary applications, diesel exhaust particulate filters and other hot gas filters.

LINE 2 is dedicated to the production of open cell ceramic foams. Products will include, but are not limited to, catalyst supports and filters for the removal of non-metallic inclusions from molten high temperature alloys.

CTI has 10 years' experience researching, developing, prototyping and manufacturing (on a small scale) a family of controlled pore ceramics and speciality refractories for a broad range of industrial applications. The plant expansion, says the company, adds one more dimension - large-scale manufacturing capability.
