Course on Refractories for Steel

The Center for Professional Advancement (Amsterdam, Holland) has announced that it will stage a four-day course on Refractories for Steel and Industrial Applications from 21-23 June 2004 in Den Haag, Holland.

Maintenance and operating personnel, supervisors responsible for plant and unit operations, as well as managers responsible for decisions on refractory problems will learn about new materials and installation methods. Refractory installers, third party inspectors and contract maintenance personnel will particularly benefit from detailed discussions on new installation techniques and materials.

An engineering or technical background is not required although technical professionals will, says the company, certainly benefit from the broad base of both theoretical and practical information presented in the course.

Course Director is Dr Michael Crowley, an engineering consultant specialising in refractory applications in the refining and petrochemical industries. Additional faculty for the course includes Gordon Barna, a ceramic engineering consultant; Richard Johnson, refractory consultant for several international corporations; and James Stendera, Technical Manager of Basic Refractory Monolithics, Vesuvius USA.

To obtain full details and to register on-line, log on to www.cfpa.com and enter the course offering number 0406-405 or the course ID number 551.
