SITI–B&T Group Supplies New Plant to Cihan Seramik in Turkey

Turkey has been confirmed as a strategic market for SITI–B&T Group thanks to the supply of an absolutely new plant to Cihan Seramik, a company that is renowned above all as a retailer of ceramic material but that also boasts much experience as a producer.

With two presses of 2,000 tons, two vertical dryers, two complete glazing lines and a leading-edge 120-metre kiln with infeed port of 2850mm, equipped with hot air recovery system to limit the consumption of natural gas, SITI–B&T has supplied Cihan Seramik with a plant for the production of 10,000 m² a day of single-fired and mono-porous tiles.

The line is also completed with a storage system for green and fired tiles, which are handled by automatic LGVs (laser guided vehicles) and with two automatic sorting lines of the new Smart Line series, again manufactured by SITI–B&T.

The plant, for which SITI–B&T Group will also provide its technological know-how, will be started up in June 2008. It will be installed in Gediz, being one of the most modern and well equipped industrial areas of Turkey, which has already been chosen by foreign investors and multi-national enterprises. The industrial area is also situated near the city of Kütahya, which is famous for the production of artistic ceramics, tableware and industrial ceramic tiles.
