Ceradyne Secures Ceramic Armour Orders Worth Nearly US$10 Million
Ceradyne Inc (Costa Mesa, CA, USA) has received additional orders totalling a value of US$9.8 million from US government agencies for its ceramic body armour systems. This includes small arms protective inserts (SAPI) as well as other body armour systems. Shipments on these new orders will begin immediately and are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2004.
CEO Joel Moskowitz said: "We are pleased to continue to receive orders for ceramic body armor systems. As previously announced, the Company is committed to a continuing capacity expansion in its ceramic armor systems product lines for body armor as well as military vehicles".
