Brookfield Expands Range

Brookfield Viscometers Ltd (Harlow, Essex, England) has expanded its range
of instruments, the company's offering being covered in the new 2003 Product
Catalogue.

In addition to Brookfield's well established range of viscometers,
rheometers and accessories, the catalogue features two new QC instruments -
the CAP 2000+ Viscometer and the YR-1 Rheometer.

The CAP 2000+ is an extension to the CAP Cone & Plate family, which the
company claims offers the perfect way to measure product viscosity for QC
and R&D applications. While the CAP 1000+ is a single speed instrument for
providing a quick, single-point test, the CAP 2000+ has been designed for
R&D and detailed QC use.

Brookfield says with excellent standards of accuracy and repeatability, this
is a variable speed instrument offering extended ranges and rheometer
capabilities. It also claims that its unique ability to operate at low
shear speeds and shear rates opens up entirely new areas of high volume,
high accuracy viscosity measurement.

The YR-1 Yield Test Rheometer is described as a simple to use, low cost
alternative to full-feature laboratory instruments. Designed to be used on
the production floor, the user only needs to select a test, lower the
spindle into the product, press 'GO' and the result is displayed as a single
shear stress number. The YR-1 is claimed to provide excellent
repeatability, allowing users to accurately determine the optimum shear
stress number for their product's yield value.
