Boral’s Board Considering CEO Succession
The Chairman of Boral Limited (Sydney, NSW, Australia), Dr Ken Moss, has recently advised that the Board has commenced an executive search process to consider suitable internal and external candidates to replace Boral’s current CEO and Managing Director Mr Rod Pearse in the event that Mr Pearse’s contract is not extended beyond the current term.
Mr Pearse’s current five-year contract is due to end on 31 December 2009.
Dr Moss said: “Shareholders have been aware that Mr Pearse’s second five-year contract comes to an end at the end of this calendar year. The Board is currently thinking through succession planning options for Boral. In the event that a decision is taken that Mr Pearse will retire at the end of his current contract, we want to ensure that we have identified the best available candidate from a broad pool of internal and external executives.
“In due course we will make an announcement about Mr Pearse’s intentions and the decisions taken by the Board.”
