Armatile Win TTA Award

The winner of The Tile Association (TTA) 2004 Award for Best Use of Tile by an Architect or Designer went to Armatile Ltd (Armagh, Co Armagh, Northern
Ireland) for its work for St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh. The TTA said that the judges had very contrasting projects to choose from and the award was given for the complexity of the design, the vast amount of tiles used and the sheer beauty of the finished project.

The tiling to this huge refurbishment project was designed by Brian Quinn of Rooney & McConville Architects in Belfast and manufactured at Armatile's manufacturing facility in Armagh. A combination of traditional mosaic and waterjet technology was used throughout the project to create new designs and also reproduce original floors that were beyond repair.
