Taylor Tunnicliff Introduces Very Low Temperature Ring

Taylor Tunnicliff Ltd, manufacturer of the world famous Bullers Rings, are proud to announce the introduction of an exciting new product for the measurement of "heat-work" and kiln uniformity at a lower range of temperatures than previously possible.

For a number of years the ceramic industry has requested a more precise and reliable method of monitoring kilns firing at low temperatures, e.g. decorating firing, than can be obtained by the change of shape pyrometric devices such as cones and bars. After a period of intense research to develop formulations which would give a uniform and sustained contraction over the desired temperature range, a suitable body composition and manufacturing process was evolved. An extensive testing programme has been carried out in both the laboratory and with consumer trials, to establish the suitability of the new product in both fast fire and standard cycle kilns,

Designated TR89/05 (Very Low Temperature Ring) the product is manufactured in exactly the same format as existing Bullers Rings, which allows existing Bullers Ring gauges (both index and vector types) to be used to measure the ring contraction, and for the user to describe the firing by the unique Bullers numbering system. It is a major step forward for Taylor Tunnicliff to be able to offer this additional product for use in the temperature range, 750 to 1000oC, and therefore offer the same simple, easy and quick to use system of describing kiln firings that has been available for more than a 100 years. As well it’s suitability for monitoring decorating kiln firings, this new Bullers Rings is suitable for monitoring and recording the heat-work conditions in many other types of kiln firing such as brick or roofing tile kilns, where the maximum temperature achieved falls within the 750° to 1000°C range.

Like all other Taylor Tunnicliff products, TR89/05 Bullers Rings are manufactured under an ISO 9002 quality management system. Extreme care at all stages of manufacture from raw material through manufacture to product testing prior to release for sale, ensures that it will conform to the same exacting standards that are applied to all its products.

TR89/05 Bullers Rings are to be launched at Ceramitech 2006 in Munich in May 16th to 19th and when samples and literature will be available from their stand, no 408 in Hall B6. There will be a simultaneous launch at the Ceramics China 2006 Exhibition in Guangzhou also May 16th to 19th where Taylor Tunnicliff will be exhibiting with samples and literature will be available on the stand
Alternatively pre-launch samples and literature may be requested via their sales office contact details below.
