New Faces Aim to Engineer Competitive Advantage

Two high calibre engineers have just joined the Ceramic Industry Forum (Stoke-on-Trent, England) to help local ceramic companies to improve their manufacturing effectiveness.

The engineers will work alongside local companies on the Ceramic Industry Forum's Process Improvement Masterclass. The programme helps large and small ceramic companies to review all aspects of the manufacturing process and, by adopting techniques used in the automotive industry, make significant improvements in costs, delivery and flexibility.

The two new engineers were selected after a rigorous recruitment exercise and will bring with them knowledge from other highly competitive manufacturing industries.

Paula Wilson worked in the engineering and ceramic materials sectors before joining the Forum, while second recruit Colin Copland was a Quality Manager at Michelin. Both are engineering graduates and have extensive experience of improving manufacturing efficiency.
