ABLE Obtains Rheonik Coriolis Agency

ABLE Instruments & Controls Ltd (Reading, Berks, England) has been appointed the exclusive UK representative for the Rheonik range of coriolis mass flowmeters. ABLE's current portfolio of flow measurement products includes pitot tubes, turbines, venturis, thermal dispersion, non-contact and wetted ultrasonic solutions for full and partially full pipes.

The Rheonik range is said to be characterised by its unique and patented omega tube element, which allows the most challenging of applications to be solved. The omega tube has a torsional movement, rather than the bending motion traditionally associated with coriolis; this allows increased tube wall thickness, which means exceptional resistance to abrasion, operation under high pressures, plus it eliminates the requirement for the secondary containment associated with other element designs.

In addition, the torsional motion of the omega tube is said to be relatively easy to stimulate and requires only a small amount of energy to keep the tube moving. As a consequence, Rheonik flowmeters have both intrinsically safe an explosion proof approvals.

Other key features are:

• Measurement of liquids and gas.
• Flow rates from 0.03kg/h to 1,500,000kg/h.
• Diameters up to 12 inch/DN300.
• Pressure over 890 bar.
• Temperature from minus 200°C to plus 400°C.
• Fiscal approval (OIML R117).
• Density measurement
• Available in stainless steel, Hastelloy and tantalum.
