The selection and formulation of new materials can have a major effect on the performance characteristics of any medical device. CERAM’s knowledge of material formulation and its effect on chemical and physical performance of medical devices and medical equipment makes us uniquely placed to accelerate new product development projects.
We have:
- considerable knowledge of the chemical and physical properties of materials, such as minerals, ceramics and metal alloys, powders and their formulations.
- the latest modelling capabilities in-house, allowing the development and modelling of virtual materials, prototypes and processes.
- small-scale prototyping facilities so that products can be tested before actualisation.
- sophisticated surface analysis and interface equipment and many years experience of using surface and interface techniques to test and investigate medical devices.
