Manufacturing Support
We offer quality assurance programs, cleanliness validation, powder optimisation and processing and packaging failure analysis. In addition, we can provide pilot-scale assessment of advanced manufacturing routes, small-scale supply of bespoke glass and metal powders and FED modelling services.
We offer consumer healthcare manufacturers:
- Novel formulation development - glass, ceramic, metal
- Small-scale supply of bespoke glass and metal powders
- Optimisation of powder preparations (purity/yields) from raw materials
- Optimisation of powder processing (suspension control for shaping via spray drying, plastic forming and casting)
- Drying/sintering control to achieve target properties (pore size distribution, microstructure, etc.)
- Pilot-scale assessment of advanced manufacturing routes (additive layer manufacture via IJP, laser sintering, freeze dry granulation, direct coagulation casting)
- Factorial Experimental Design (FED) to explore manufacturing variables
- Cleanliness Validation
Achieving and maintaining cleanliness throughout the manufacturing process is critical as contaminants can be introduced at each phase of manufacture. Understanding and monitoring the effectiveness of each cleaning stage, by surface analysis, residue analysis and particulate assessment, means that not only can we help manufacturers to confirm the final cleanliness validation of the process and products but can also monitor each step to determine where contamination is introduced should problems occur.
CERAM provides a complete validation service, VALIDATA, to determine the effectiveness of the cleaning process and environment on an ongoing basis. - Quality Assurance
We work with home care manufacturers to develop and provide quality assurance programs to ensure product and material quality consistency and performance to criteria. We offer batch-to-batch conformity testing, from which results can be utilised for regulatory authorities and internal QA/QC protocols.
