Floor and Wall Tile Consultancy
At CERAM we have the capabilities to conduct worldwide product and installation failure inspections and investigations. Through our consultants, in-house scientists and engineers, we can analyse the design, installation and performance of wall and floor cladding materials.
CERAM provides independent confidential reports to:
- Compare installation to British, European or ISO Standards
- Identify any shortcomings in the installation/cladding material
- Ascertain sequences leading to failure
- Suggest remedial measures if required
- Provide specification for remedial measures.
Testing of Floor and Wall Tiles
For product conformity, quality control, safety, performance and legislative reasons, we offer testing of ceramic floor and wall tiles to a wide range of UK, European and International Standards in our UKAS accredited testing laboratory (No. 0013).
Testing of Tile Adhesives and Grouts
At CERAM we provide testing of tile adhesives and grouts to UK and European Standards, in particular the EN 12004 and EN 13888 quality standards.
Tests for adhesives include:
- Slip
- Open time
- Wetting capability
- Tensile strength
- Shear test
- Transverse deformation
- Strength following freeze-thaw
- Strength following heat ageing.
Tests for grouts include:
- Abrasion resistance
- Compressive strength
- Flexural strength
- Shrinkage
- Water absorption.
CERAM is a Notified Body for initial type testing of adhesives for CE Marking against the Constructive Products Directive.
