Resource Management Interest Group

The Resource Management Interest Group provides a forum to identify, evaluate and disseminate methods, best practice and legislative issues in the processing of solid and liquid materials including energy associated with manufacturing.

The group's aim is to promote and facilitate industry led activities which maximise efficiency in the use and re-use of resources and to minimise the costs and the environmental impact of manufacturing operations. The promotion of transfer of knowledge between industry sectors and awareness of emerging technologies is seen as a major role of the group.

The interest group is the focus of a very wide range of activities either specific short term investigations or longer term programmes such as updates and group bulletins.

The activities are defined by the group itself and may include the formation of specific task/steering groups or clubs for individual projects in addition to the general group activity.

Examples of areas of activity include:
  • Legislation updates

  • Workshops and Seminars focussing on meeting the demands of legislation, best practices, certification and technology awareness/transfer

  • Targeted Information collation and delivery

  • Club project definition and delivery - waste minimisation, waste re-use, scrap recycling, process improvements energy saving.
