Product Design

The construction industry has a continual need for new products and at CERAM, we work closely with innovative manufacturers as part of their product design team. Whether it is working with an SME on the development of small components or a national company on a complete building system, we have the equipment, expertise and accreditation to help.

The introduction of new European Standards under the Construction Products Directive means that many components can now meet the challenge of performance requirements rather than prescription. This enables innovative thinkers to develop new designs, all of which need thorough testing in some cases by laboratories such as CERAM which are Notified to the EU.

In other cases it may be that testing to meet the requirements of the British Board of Agrément or to confirm that the standards set by building insurers will be met are required.

We can be involved as early on in the process as possible. At the "ideas" stage a confidentiality agreement might be required and at later stages you may need summary reports to support your product launches. Our experience and independence enables us to support the commercial development of your new products.
