Environmental Policy

The business makes an impact on the environment, in its use of materials, its discharges, wastes created in our various processes, and in its use of energy.

The business is conscious of these effects, and is committed to reduce its impact on the environment, in all areas, each and every year.

The business had its carbon footprint measured in 2008, and uses this as a baseline to measure its improvements in terms of energy usage.

The basic principles we adhere to are:

  1. We look to reduce our energy consumption in all areas by eliminating waste – equipment is switched on only when needed.
  2. When new equipment is purchased, we look for the lowest energy system that will deliver the required performance.
  3. We are constantly looking to change old equipment for newer more efficient systems.
  4. We maximise the effective use of each system.
  5. Where possible, we reduce the use of chemicals in favour of more indirect measurement methods.
  6. We use public transport for business journeys, where possible.
